Time flies when you’re researching birds…

I never was one to keep a diary as a kid, and it turns out that I’m not much better at it as an adult! For the past few years this site has been sorely neglected while I’ve been navigating the journeys of parenthood and a permanent academic role. However, the folk of the Wild Cognition Lab have been hard at work all this time. We have had students graduate and fledge the nest onto their next adventure, with new generations of recruits joining the lab. Our research on kākā and toutouwai is ongoing, giving us an even deeper appreciation of their cognitive abilities, cultural significance and conservation challenges. The Students, Publications and Student theses pages on this site have finally been updated to reflect all of this hard mahi (hard work)!
